This is a hilarious spoof by the CBC's Rick Mercer, painfully funny to watch around tax-time in Canada. I've paid 50% taxes in western Canada before, but it can be more like 60% in Quebec. Ugh.
The video below is a spoof of the "Hands in my pockets" funny/dumb/repetitive television commercials that keep appearing in Canada on national tv. The original commercial is advertising some sort of financial product or service, but I can never remember what (not an effective commercial, apparently).

I'd now like to quote Markus McAllister on that subject:
"These are such high taxes that, well... I've decided to move offshore and live in a tropical hut, right on the beach. I've sold my computer and will write these notes to the world on wide banana leafs. I'll mail them to Canada, folding them carefully, and keeping them moist. Someone will type these messages from my banana leaves onto the web, to be viewed electronically in the future when such technology permits. And at the same time, I'll put my hard earned Canadian tax dollars into a wooden coconut for a while - but I'm afraid someone might steal it from me, or take it inadvertently. And I don't want to live in fear like that, like some unfortunate Americans do. So when someone comes to rob my tax dollars, I'll pop them robbers on the noggen with my coconut, gently at first, and then harder if needed, and then knee them in the balls if they try to take their 'cut' from me without warning. I'll also move back to Canada and gladly pay the taxes, then... maybe settle in Alberta or B.C, where it's safe and the economy keeps booming thanks to the long-term need for energy, clean air and clean water."
