Recovering from a hard disk failure on my main computer... being replaced under warranty. More updates to the site soon. I'm working on an RSS feed engine that grabs my updates from a blog site and caches them on redbeet.com. For me, this is cool stuff.
Using a major blog engine to publish onto redbeet.com let's me build on the work of giants, like Google's Blogger, the Google APIs and a Mac OS X publishing widget for one-click publishing, plus some Curl and PHP kung fu that I wrote that includes caching (and some RSS parsing on the side... I couldn't decide which was a better overall approach, so I got them both working). I'll tie it all together with XML/RSS when I get time.
It might sound complicated, but the end result will look very simple. I hope to finish it soon. Stay tuned and until then, happy holidays. :)
