This is not the Banyan Tree but rather a different tree with interesting roots. It's actually a strangler fig.

The water at the botanical gardens in Calcutta (India) looked interesting... yup I think those are lily pads.

Just a picture of a crazy-busy street near Chowringhee in Calcutta. Chowringhee overall was much quieter and easy-going than the traveler's hangout in New Delhi, Paharganj, and a bit nicer than than the waterfront of Mumbai (Bombay) too. I should have taken a picture of those places to compare...

Another great banyan tree, this one with two Hindu temples surround it which I liked to visit. Note the different types of leaves growing off the same tree.
