The website domain redbeet.com was registered in either 1997 and 1998 (exact date is not known) by Kelly Martin, because the Internet node wowee.ersys.edmonton.ab.ca (his Amiga 1000 uucp node in the early 1990s) was taken offline. I was blown away with the size of the Internet community when I first joined it back in 1989. I'd participate in the Usenet community and had found e-mail in 1989, when most people couldn't have cared less. For me it was an exciting find, after having read about the Internet in 1986 and 1987 while using the peer-to-peer based Fidonet BBS network.
